Mich Turner MBE, founder and director of Little Venice Cake Company has been confirmed as the co-presenter and face of new series ‘Britain’s Best Bakery’. Filming has now commenced and the series is set to air Autumn 2012.
Britain’s Best Bakery is a national search to find and crown the best bakery in the UK. The series will take the coveted 4pm – 5pm weekday slot on ITV1 and will air for four weeks continuously. Across the twenty episodes, fascinating stories and histories behind baking traditions will be revealed as the show takes a nostalgic journey through the country. Each week, the finest bakeries in each region will be explored. They will compete in a challenge set by the presenters which will culminate in a weekly High Tea. The winner from each region will reach the final, involving challenging show-stopper baking tasks.
As the leading expert on all things cake, Mich was the natural choice as co-presenter and resident authority for Britain’s Best Bakery. Mich trained as a Food Scientist before establishing Little Venice Cake Company in 1999. She has written four international award winning books on cake baking and decorating, hosts sell-out masterclasses, has her own equipment range, has an association with Silver Spoon and has the Couture Chocolate Truffle Cake on the shelves of the supermarkets. Her co-host is Peter Sidwell; chef, baker and author of ‘Simply Good Taste’. The series is being made by Shine TV, the production company behind Masterchef.
